Alex Bales, Development Assistant

Alex is a Development Assistant at White Coat Waste Project (WCW). He comes to WCW with a variety of experience in the non-profit advocacy and start-up sectors. Alex knew he wanted to work in animal advocacy when years ago he first learned how the government subsidies animal abuse in various industries. His favorite part of development is building relationships with our grassroots army — 3 million members and supporters, animal lovers, and liberty lovers united to win in the War on Waste.

He graduated from Eastern Oregon University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, with a Business Minor. He previously worked at FreedomWorks, the Cato Institute, and Institute for Humane Studies, and several startups in the private sector.

In his free time, he enjoys hiking, cooking, and traveling, having visited 35 countries to date.
